The Western Branch CPS Scientific Program Committee is pleased to announce its four part series for 2009. This year’s program will offer the opportunity to review new ways of understanding central psychoanalytic concepts developed during the past decades. The program will begin with an exploration of some major changes in the concept of termination, a fundamental feature of clinical practice. Our next two topics will address aspects of transference and regression, and the role of the body in emotional experience respectively. Last but not least, we have included a much requested topic: Psychoanalytic concepts applied to group psychotherapy. Join us for what promises to be a rich exchange of ideas. Announcements with more detail for each event will be posted several months prior to each event.
